On August 2, 1979, during the 1st Session of the 96th Congress, 8 representatives co-sponsored this resolution and introduced H.Con.Res. 165 in the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs. This concurrent resolution reaffirmed Congress’ commitment to enable the people of Puerto Rico to determine their own political future.
